We've spent the last 3 nights in St. Malo, a beautiful walled city right on the coast. The difference between low and high tides is second only to the Bay of Fundy. At low tide (pictured ) it is hard to imagine just how deep the water becomes at high tide. We've had quite a bit of free time here because we were in Rennes yesterday morning just long enough for a tour. There was concern about whether the labor strikes would hit there later in the day. The old part of the city had some interesting half-timbered houses. The we're much more decorated than any others I've seen.
